Yep, I've got my flights, travel insurance and now the LTX ticket booked, just sorting spending money and accommodation now.
-
Those VIP tickets went obscenely quickly ? Glad I managed to snag one.

Currently the PC (my HTPC in an Evolv Shift) has an i3 7100, R9 290 and 8GB RAM Before LTX I'll be upgrading it to an i5 or i7 depending on what shows up second hand and will temporarily move the 1070 and RAM from my main desktop into it. Not bringing my main gaming PC due to the size and cost of doing so. I've had a bunch of people coming in to work with this issue, my co-worker and I managed to get a fix going. You'll need a spare computer, a flash drive of at least 8GB and a fair bit of time. If you need anything more detailed reply and I can go into more detail. 1: On the spare computer download the Windows 10 media creation tool and setup a bootable drive. 2: Plug the drive into the computer and boot back into the volume (insert random small number here) 3: Use CTRL + ALT + Delete to open task manager 4: Use task manager to open CMD with admin privileges 5: Use Diskpart to workout which drive letter the external installer is on (command "diskpart" then "list volume") 6: Move to that volume ("volume letter:") and run the command "start setup.exe" 7: Proceed through the install setup and make sure to keep apps and features (it will take quite a while)

It's amazing that you guys need a second accountant now @CPotter >.>

The only adjustment I'd make is changing the power supply. Best Buy has the 600w version for the same price as the 500w from Amazon. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7VJpyf

Will ryzen 5 1500x work with windows 7 ?
Str_Mape replied to chexor's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Just a heads up, you can still use a windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 license to activate windows 10, even if they've never been used on windows 10 before. The "deadline" for upgrades only applied to using the upgrade tool in windows. -
Just a tip for when you have it ready to install, unless you have the usb 3.0 drivers on the flash drive, use usb 2 as it saves a lot of hassle.

Yep, I've been doing it at work as recently as last week, all they did was stop pushing the upgrade service.
-
I'm not quite sure if update blocking has been implemented yet but from the sounds of it, it'll be happening fairly soon. Fortunately you can still use your windows 7 key during or after the installation of Win 10 to activate it.

Just Built a New X99 System Now its not booting to bios. Ideas?
Str_Mape replied to irule745's topic in Troubleshooting
It in fact is one option with higher end Asus boards. http://event.asus.com/2012/mb/USB_BIOS_Flashback_GUIDE/ https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1030124/ -

It doesn't need both connectors, I've had it running for a year (still running) and it works perfectly fine with just the 8-pin
