  1. Here is my issue with you saying that Using AdBlock is piracy. It is like telling a Hit man that he is a murder for stepping on Bugs. Technically you are correct, but using adblock is also a form of protection from bad actors in the ad space - Unless one wants to micromanage their white list (and most do not) YouTube ads being blocked would be considered collateral damage. I just think that Pirating is way too strong a term for you to use in that instance. That is what makes it so offensive. You can be technically correct and still be WRONG. Try to remember that.
  2. They have solutions for moving motorhomes and vehicles across the border. The snowbirds can still make the trip with their motorhomes and vehicles. They have to fly into the US and their vehicles will be waiting for them in the US. The basic jist is commercial drivers are considered essential workers and can cross the border for commercial endeavors. So they are able to bring the RV or vehicles across. Since you can still fly commercially into the US from Canada this make a loophole that can be used to circumvent the issue of being stuck up north. Here is a link to one company that does this: https://www.tptrucking.ca/2020/07/is-your-boat-or-rv-stuck-across-the-canada-usa-border-during-this-covid-19-pandemic/
  3. Yes Luke did talk about it.. He acknowledged it was down and not something they had any control over.. In other words it is a provider issue.
  4. Just be aware.. This setup of moving the Default Documents / Videos / Pictures / Music / Downloads folders from the C Drive is the exact scenario that had caused the last Windows Major Fall Update to Delete peoples files. It just up and deleted the folders that were not on the C drive and recreated empty folders on the C partition. I have always left Windows defaults they way they were and created my own folders on my other drives and manually located my files to those folders. I would also add them to the Libraries for each group.
  5. This is learning about torrenting in general and how to use whatever torrent program you are using.. In most torrent programs you have 2 ways to start downloading a given torrent.. 1 is with a .torrent file - This will have all the info needed to start a given torrent download. Next is a Maglink file. This will get you into a Torrent swarm and the Peers / users in the swarm will send to your program the information needed to download the torrent. As to what Torrent program is the best? That is always up to debate. it use to be uTorrent.. but it can also depend on what OS you are using. I like qBittorrent and Tixati. https://www.techradar.com/news/the-best-free-torrent-client I would stay away from Vuze as it can be a hog of resources.. They all should tell you how many seeders / Peers are in a given torrent swarm. and if you click on the little tabs it will give you additional information. General: If the site tells you how many seeders and downloaders there are.. You are looking for one that has at the very least a couple seeders. Seeders= people that have 100% of a torrent and are sharing. Peers / downloaders are people in the process of downloading a torrent and do not have all the pieces. If between all the Peers / downloaders there is a distribution of 100% of a given torrent then as long as everyone stays on the torrent then you will be able to get 100% of a given download. BUT this is the internet and there are nefarious people in all things and that includes torrenting. Usually only in pirate torrents where a company will be hired to try and disrupt a torrent swarm by giving out bad blocks. Also you might see 1 seeder that is in super seed mode which means it will only give out blocks to separate downloaders to spread the data amongst the swarm. Last always beware of torrents that come as multipart downloads with a .exe file to combine. For one you never get to see what is truly in a torrent download till after all parts are complete and that exe can be a virus. You will see these multipart .r01 .r02 ... ... type torrents from what are called scene releases of illegal movies or tv shows. They do this to help obfuscate the video files to get past filters and such and to manage large files to reduce file errors as the only 1 bad file would need to be redownloaded and not the whole of whatever it was. They are combined with a zip/rar/7z type program. Finally let google be your friend.. This is a simple google search of Everything you ever wanted to know about torrenting. https://www.google.com/search?num=100&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS828US829&ei=6MpWXInLDsKwtgWdkYvoBA&q=everything+you+ever+wanted+to+know+about+torrenting&oq=everything+you+ever+wanted+to+know+about+torrenting&gs_l=psy-ab.3...363535.372138..372349...0.0..0.113.4500.50j1......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i71j35i39j0i131j0j0i67j0i131i67j0i22i30j33i160j33i22i29i30.NB3TkNsAPic
  6. 1) Torrenting - You can google how to torrent of course which I am sure you have done. A very good info site (Which I do not think will violate any rules) with all kinds of info about torrenting is https://torrentfreak.com/ For the whole ad blocker stuff.. and useful tricks on how to navigate the web. Do not settle for just a single browser.. I use Chrome / Firefox / Opera (Which has some ad blocking built in) and Edge (mostly for Video watching as it is the only browser to get true HD playing on Netflix. Next hone your Google-Fu.. What the hell does that even mean? It means when you search the net for something it is all in how you word your searches.. 1st thing I do is ASK my question in full.. Like [ How do I clean a Virus from my PC? ] Sure fire answers? Either go to a website dedicated in helping users figure out if they have a virus and possible directions on how to clean it OR the Only mostly sure way is to copy off any user data onto some other storage ( External hard drive / cloud storage ) and then Reformat your drive and reinstall the OS and programs. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+clean+a+virus+techquickie Lots of stuff is more in the Techquickie parts of LMG https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+search+the+web+techquickie
  7. You do not understand the concept of lying So it is not correct that what Linus presented is a LIE.. If he knowing knew something but purposely said something that was false, then he would be lying and it would be a lie.. If he said something that was in factual error then he did not lie he was just incorrect or wrong. Do not say someone is lying unless you know it was a statement said on purpose in order to deceive. You would say " The first one is that they said that ONLY x470 boards get StoreMI " This is incorrect. x399 and b450. Also you must realize that this Video was probably filmed before x399 got StoreMI (they did not get it till This month) and b450 did not come out till end of July.. So in FACT Linus and LTT did NOT lie at the time of making this video and they were correct.. This happens many times in things like this as technology advances so quickly. Things get updated or new things come out all the time making parts of what is reported now not precisely correct. At this point you could say.. X399 and the new b450 now also have the Free StoreMI.. This would be a more appropriate comment.. Not that they LIED.
  8. Because HE did not LIE (/sarcasm) It was Ajit Pai who was lied to by the Chief Information Officer "David Bray" - Who no longer works for the FCC and was hired by the Obama Administration.. so Ajit Pai did not lie or do anything wrong ( again /sarcasm). Ajit Pai - "was surprised and disappointed when I learned of the findings of the Office of Inspector General's investigation." (It wasn't me)
  9. I am going with the CORSAIR HXi Series HX850i 850W 80 PLUS from Newegg (it is currently backordered - but I do not NEED it this minute) $169.89 - and you can order it at that price on backorder. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817139083 I currently have a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 from WAY back in 2009 (still works like a champ and been running 24/7 all that time) and I would like an upgrade to something a bit newer LOL.. I also looked at the AXi models and found (JonnyGuru) the HX series is newer tech and on par or better than the older AX's I too like the idea of Corsair link and the ability to monitor and have more control over the PSU. I decided NOT to go with the RMi series because looks like the HXi series is just a bit better for $10 more on Newegg (save $20) for me at the 850W price point. I think the RM650i would be just fine... Corsair RM650i 650W - JonnyGuru Review
  10. It all depends on your fans.. Radiator size you go with. 120 / 240 / 280 How hot your processor gets and how much heat needs to be dissipated.. (So what Processor running at what speed? Will it be over clocked?) What fan curve you use and what Temperature target you are aiming for. Will you use push / pull or just one fan.. All of this will impact the noise level of a CLC.. What noise level is acceptable is also a factor? You will not hear the pump in that case with the side panel on over any of the fans in it.. Taking all that into account I think it all has to do with how hot your CPU gets and what speeds you run it at.. A CLC can keep a CPU cooler under load with less fan speed IF you are matching the size and type of fans of the Air Cooler.. The larger RAD your CLC the slower you can run those fans. I had the Kraken X42 cooling a 7700k (4.8GHz) mounted in the back of a Corsair Carbine 500R using 2 Noctua NF-A14... This was much quieter than the stock single fan that came with it.. I say HAD because even though I LOVED the Infinity LED's on the PUMP It would not start up my Noctua's at boot until I booted into windows and ran that GOD awful CAM software [I had to Run the FAN's off the MB headers and not the NZXT FAN cable harness].. It would only hold the lighting settings as long as the PC was plugged in [ If you unplugged or hit the Power Supply power switch it would loose any setting stored on the pump memory] So I returned it.. I am currently using a Cooler Masters MasterLiquid Pro 140 with my 2 Noctua's (which are again much quieter than the stock fans that come with the CLC) and at Idle It is quieter then any of the other fans in my system which is still pretty darn quiet. I have 2 Noctua NF-P12 PWM up front which are also whisper quiet.. 1 BitFenix BFF-LPRO-20025B-RP Spectre Pro 200mm LED Case Fan, Blue in the side.. 2 of Cryorig CR-XTA 140mm Slim Profile PWM System Case Fan up top (I wanted the Slim fans to fit on top of the 500R) I sit directly next to my PC about 1 foot from it and it is very quiet to me.. Under game load I do not hear it over the GPU Fan.. Kinda of a low drone pitch.. I do plan on getting a 212 Evo as a backup cooler in the event I have any issues (IE the pump stops working) - Which happened to my Neptune 140XL that was replaced my Cooler Master for the MasterLiquid Pro 140 which took less than 30 days (Why I tried out the Kraken) I really wish the Kraken would have worked out for me because IT is Beautiful.. I was ready to upgrade my case to one with Tempered Glass just to show off the lovely CLC. The Software is just crap in my opinion.. And the fact that it would not cool the CPU very well until you booted into windows and ran CAM.. (Like If you booted into BIOS or ran non Windows OS)
  11. Do you mean a physical place to put the drive OR SATA connections for a 2nd drive on the mother board? Looks like currently you have a CD/DVD Rom and 1) 3 1/2 Hard drive so your already using 2 SATA connections on the Motherboard - Make sure you have and open port for a 2nd drive. Physically: Looks like there might be a little room above for a 2nd 3 1/2 drive but hard to tell.. On the other hand looks like you have 2 or 3 Open 5 1/4 drive bays under the CD/DVD drive.. You can always get a 5 1/4 to 3 1/2 adapter to mount it up there.. But yea you can pretty much put a hard drive anywhere it will fit and just be sensible about where you put it and secure it as best you can. Did you look into adding a SSD instead? you would gain the greatest performance with an SSD (especially for an old system) and those you can toss pretty much anywhere in a case heck velcro it to the bottom.
  12. The problem is likely in the pin configuration of the Peripheral / Sata power Port or Cable that is included with the Modular Power Supply. Since it is perfectly possible to take 2 4pin Molex connectors and convert them to a 6 pin.. I am sure the power coming out of the non blue ports is just like power coming out of the blue ports.. So I think the reason it is not working is due to what voltages are going to what Pins using the Black cable into the Black Modular port. In other words the Cable is wired wrong for PCIe 6. Check out This site for Pinouts OR just get a Dual 4 pin Molex to 6 pin PCI adapter.. http://www.overclock.net/t/1420796/repository-of-power-supply-pin-outs I do not think they use capacitors on their modular cables. If it was me I would plug the cable into the power supply and map out each pin myself to be sure. Using a Multimeter check voltages and make sure all are the same and if not swap the pins around until they are and then label that cable as special. OR just get Dual 4 pin Molex to 6pin adapter and call it a day.. They make single 4pin Molex to 6 pin PCIe BUT I would get the dual 4pin Molex depending on the wire gauge. Beyond that.. Make sure your not exceeding the MAX power draw of your PSU
  13. I am currently running a Radeon HD 7850 which is 4 years old... I hope to upgrade my whole system at the end of summer. I am liking the video card choices that are in my price point of under $350US.. I run dual 1080p monitors. I would like to play more modern games but my current system *cough* is not yet up for it.
  14. Small and compact with that throw Oh yea I see many great uses for this.
  15. I would like to replace my 500gb WD Black drive.. SSD are simply faster than any mechanical drives so perfect for frequently accessed files.
