Pretty cool to see a 6 digit deposit in the bank account (We finally sold our condo)!

Until you look at the next transaction ... Bank ; hey! Remember the condo's mortgage? *Takes money*

At least now we're not paying 2 mortgages!!! (We had savings because this was all planned, still, it was getting tight)

At first I thought the 6 digit deposit was from @Den-Fi trying to get you to stop.
Though I guess he spent it all on that camera preorder 👀

Is the deposit from Den-Fi lobbying or PAC money ? Asking for a friend. :D

you don't like them taking those 6 digits, but you'll love when they DON'T take that monthly mortgage payment every month! I'm behind on the forum news, was this a sell and buy overlap or did you have 1 for living and 1 for renting?

it was an overlap, we bought the house 1 year ago, we had money aside to fix the condo, but it had to be done in conjunction with the owner of the unit beside ours. We got a quote and a contractor. Just 2 weeks before the work was supposed to start, the contractor contacted us to tell us he would have to postpone the work because he was in an accident and almost lost a finger (the contractor was him and 2 employees, it wasn't a big company).

We and the other owner were fine with it ... but then the date was pushed back a bit again, then it was postponed because of winter (the work included redoing the exterior wall of the unit beside mine, and the owner was worried about the cold), and then COVID happened ... so in the end, the work is still not done (as of now) and we couldn't wait anymore (we ended up changing contractor) and sold it at a lower price because it of the work needed.

The money that was set aside to pay for the renovations was in the end used to pay for part of the condo's mortgage since we expected 6 months of overlap, not a year!
