Madone6 reacted to FloRolf in Folding Power of GT 710?
Nah it'll be a waste of everything.
It starts to make sense at xx50 series.
Best performance/Watt usually come from the biggest gpus, like a 1080 or Titan XP.

Madone6 reacted to LemurWrangler in Your Folding Rig(s)
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm new to the team, but not to folding. Been folding about 3 years solid now, and my machines have grown over time.
Right now I'm folding on 3 boxes: a dedicated folder, another that serves as a family room pc, and my office/gaming rig.
Specs for the machines below...
Dedicated folder (built with inspiration after my mom passed from an autoimune disease that affected her lungs)
Case: Fractal Arc XL
Mobo: MSI XPower Z87
CPU: i7 4790K (OC @4.4ghz; folding on 4 threads)
GPU: 3x EVGA 780 ACX SC
SSD: older 128 GB OCZ
PSU: EVGA G2 1200 Watt
Cooling: Custom watercooled loop for GPUs and CPU with a thick 280mm rad and thin 360mm rad, with a mixture of Fractal and Noctua fans.
OS: Win10
Office/Gaming rig
Case: Fractal Define S
Mobo: Asus Z77 LE
CPU: i5 3570K (OC at 4.3 GHz; folding on 2 threads)
GPU: EVGA 980ti SC ACX
SSD: 480 GB Crucial
HDD: 2 TB Hitachi
PSU: EVGA G2 850
Cooling: Corsair H80i
OS: Win10
Family Room PC (built with parts left over from upgrades to the two above machines)
Case: Thermaltake New Soprano
Mobo: MSI Z97 G55 SLI
CPU: Haswell Pentium G (3120?)
GPU: HIS AMD 7870 and Gigabyte R9 390 G1 gaming
SSD: 240 GB Crucial
PSU: EVGA G2 850
Cooling: Stock Intel fan
With these 3 machines folding near 24/7, I have averaged between 1.2-1.7M PPD over the last 6 months, and earned over 500M for another team, before I just switched to LTT.
Cheers!

Madone6 reacted to MatrixGrenade in Hypothetically would this be profitable?
I actually hid a small bitcoin miner in my cousins house and im using his power to make bitcoins. So it's pure profit for me. I would suggest doing the same.

Madone6 got a reaction from Bajantechnician in Just Installed 750 Ti, When should it fully kick in?
PPD is Points Per Day and WU means Work Unit
I have the newest drivers, I installed it half an hour ago
Same as above

Madone6 got a reaction from mynameajeff in What coin should I mine? (750 ti)
Well, yeah. But even then you won't get much return

the cure already existed 10 years ago... Just if you introduce the cure, there goes the number one revenue source for the big guys.

Madone6 reacted to don_svetlio in Fah making dual 390x overheat
He doesn't need to. 80*C for a 390X is nothing really. The silicone is made competently and can easily withstand 80*C. Were it the GTX 480, I'd be calling it frozen.

Madone6 got a reaction from FAQBytes in Just Installed 750 Ti, When should it fully kick in?

Madone6 got a reaction from Nup in GTX 660 PPD?
WOW, I thought it would be like the 750 Ti (~65-70K)
Why would you get a Titan when you could get a 980 Ti which is lots cheaper and the same card essentially -
Madone6 got a reaction from Nup in GTX 660 PPD?
My cousin has a GTX 660 in his rig (soon to be replaced though) and i mentioned F@H to him, I'm just curious what he could produce

Madone6 got a reaction from Vitalius in We Currently Output 4% Of The F@H Total Output!
We do have 5.7% of total active users though. But our Average PPD is 52,954.3!
