  1. For me personally while all of that is bad there is one thing that is worst, the physics oh my god they drive me nuts. Look I just dont care if its realistic or not, everytime I criticise forza physics someone comes out of the woodwork saying yeah but its not trying to be a sim. I dont care it understeers so much, everything feels like a whale, its awful and wrong in so many ways its not fun and its not realistic and the FFB sucks, no one is winning from this, its poor and its needs to be improved because it should not be considered acceptable. Sorry for the rant, I just can not stand the forza motorsport physics, horizon on the other hand is great because its actually fun and somehow manages to have more defining characteristics between drivetrains. On a nicer note Horizon 4 is quite fun, they put it in the wrong part of the UK if im honest. Im biased since im from South London but not putting london in or south going into Hove and Brighton is very odd, there are many great vistas, monuments, clashes of old and new architecture, racetracks, drifting courses, coastal roads and due to the green belt there is a slice of country and city. A lot of people confuse London with Greater London, thats a concrete jungle, its very different as you go to the outer regions as there is a bit of everything. Edinburgh is just old buildings and countryside, fuck all money has been injected from our government into it so it gets over shadowed by the more varied places like Manchester or Brighton. I can see why they didnt do london though, the geographical modelling was a monumental task this time around, its clear horizon 3 has a more varied map but the seasons meant many models had to be done multiple times or have various textures. Doing all of that with the sheer variety of environments of the south of england would be made that even harder and would have certainly required an extra six month or a year . Biggest flaw with horizon 4 for me is the music choice though, some of it is very grating.
  2. That bloomin ED will not get out of my head though.
  3. Sounds havent necessarily got better or worse, everyone else has gotten drastically better(aside from SMS which is distorted mess). Forza gets a lot of flak sharing sounds, C63 is a good example as the 6.3 and 4.0 engines sound the same as the sound banks are identical. Unique sounds is a hard one for every racing game, especially since you cant get live recordings for every car. The other thing is unnecessary noise which is not present on a car which gtsport and raceroom are guilty off. Easy example is GT sport if you go off throttle in any GT3 car it will snap, crackle and pop which is true for a lot of them but not every GT car, some just dont sound good especially in the case of the LMP cars which are pretty well behaved off throttle. I understand its hard to make all sounds unique however they need to make sure there arent any complete copies, raceroom shares its turbo "wooshing" from the group 5 to 80sDTM cars however the engine notes are different, its ok to share but like your friends homework you need to change something else it appears to be lazy. Every niche to large team has managed to do this so Turn10 need to do it as well. The bar has been raised so they need to match it else it will be regarded as a flaw.
  4. nah got it free off game pass 14 day trial, it looks nice and is a quite fun. Sounds are a bit immersion braking though since they are just so bad. its not the sound engine's fault since the mclaren 720s sounds bang on but a lot of other cars are just way off.
  5. nope the FMOD alone. FMOD is massively powerful more so then steam or radeonray so far but its expensive, just that the original AC didnt utilise it to its full potential for whatever reason(probably time issues). Luckily I have a bit of insight in fmod as the sound engineering students at my uni use it likely because its very popular and powerful but the documentation and support is outstanding comparable with unreal and unity as it has been used in literally thousands of games.
  6. I use dumbbell plates around my peddles to stop them moving, works very well. 10kg on the back and 5gb on the sides. Might need 20kf as you are using three pedals.
  7. Today I was reflecting on how active I used to be here, I remember posting all that news, having upwards of 5-6hours on this forum pretty much everyday. It was basically all I did, it was all I had at the time. I wonder if I miss that now, my life is much better now but I miss the interactions with people here, it was great fun. I sometimes wonder what would have happened had I stayed and dedicated that much time to this forum to this day.

    1. Silentprototipe

      Silentprototipe

Well you may feel that but if your happy with where you are right now I say theres no harm in continuing like that :P

    2. Sharif

      Sharif

Exactly the same situation here, I barely find myself posting or responding to threads anymore

  8. I have to agree its slowly creeped up over the past few years. Back when I was active here several years ago it was 30-40% cheaper, its a drastic increase so I hope something comes from that price fixing lawsuit because its honestly ridiculous
  9. Are you using gloves, i very highly suggest using gloves. Doesnt even have to be dedicated driving gloves. I personally use these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OMP-Classic-Vintage-Car-Racing-Tazio-Stringback-Driving-Gloves-IB747/362122261904?hash=item54502b3590:m:mdt587wrAw0ZMXhsS9a1eog They love as general gloves and for driving, drivng for a long time is much easier with them.
  10. We have a mark 3 and a mark 2 at the moment which are both very good its just in low light they struggle but the flash can help with that in most situations. As for editing im not sure since my father does it and hes damn good at it. But the increased ISO sounds promising. We have been very tempted with sony many times before but getting a new camera is expensive as all hell. I've not looked into weather the expensive lens will be compatible either.
  11. Good thing I stopped my dad from getting the 5D mark 4 then.
  12. I wanted to see if people actually read what I write, its yes here but no everywhere else i posted it
  13. Invited the kid to the highschool reunion but shes shy without her make up on. For the people that still bother with AC the first part of our super gt pack is coming out tomorrow featuring the Nissan NSX's above from the Blancpain GT series of 2005 to 2006 Working on getting it in pcars 2 but having trouble due to the damage system and physics being total shit to work with.
  14. I really struggle with this though, the foundations of this game are around 15 years old now and are based around a nascar game. The illusive issue of turning right and turning left providing differing levels of grip still exists in iracing. It falls into we have seen this all before category, wow they used data from the real cars, wow so did kunos, reiza, 397, simbin and even polyphony likely did as well. I simply find it too hard to believe that the foundation can be fundamentally changed to the point where cars using technology invented a decade after the creation of the game can be accurately recreated. Furthermore how can I say its realistic when the cars every now and then get updated and have radically different behaviours, that part just leaves me scratching my head. Kunos went through a similar thing while redoing their tyre model, it went from oh this feels so much better to oh this feels so much better etc etc. I dont doubt there is a lot of data used to create these cars and generally the finished products are polished quite nicely however its a stretch for the price especially with the subscription fees on the side. I do however believe the tracks are worth the price. My belief is if they either remove their subscription fees or remove their pricing for the cars then it will be much better but they have no motivation to because nothing hits their niche, its like not being able to boycott your isp because there is only one isp in your town.
  15. Yeah its lovely having that feeling, being in my second year of uni it feels like I have only a bit of free time.
  16. Stock samsung ram so no heatsinks, i can go up to £20 but I want to do it fast while the winter sales are still a thing. im fine with or without leds
  17. So I have a Raijintek Ereboss That little guy, anyways the fan you see in front died so im looking for a 140mm replacement. trouble is I have little knowledge about fans and ive been so out of touch with hardware for the past three years so I cant really remember much. Anyways luckily Noctua has a 30ish% off sale right now so im looking for a replacement Im unsure if I should be going for a cooler designed around max cfm or the ones that work best with radiators, I thought since the fin array is pretty dense it might still be a factor. Also is Noctua still a good brand Thanks in advance.
  18. Man some people are extremely desperate with their degree work and grades. Certainly one hell of a risk, no idea why they would take that, massive black flag. Failing a module isnt the end of the world but getting caught doing this is career destroying.
  19. Little lad is hilarious, might want to give him some new examples for words starting with c though.
  20. The reps on twitter said the pc version will likely a month later. Quite happy about it tbh, getting that and gravel next year, both seam like a good bit of fun.
  21. when they say 10 hours its normally like 2-3hours of story content and then teh rest is do whatever you want. Still im fine with paying £3.99 a month for these extended demos
  22. Im gonna wait to see what kind of free dlc will be added and what other content they are adding because right now im interested in singleplayer only and the current offering is a load of tat also the car/track content mainly track is a joke, it has fewer real tracks then assetto corsa, with fictional it totals to 17.
