I got my shelves set up for my PC part boxes, and my headphones in the picture as well.

Converting 2 speaker wires to a 3.5mm was probably not the best idea,(if it was 2 speaker wires that is) you'll most likely need to convert it back to speaker wires to use a speaker amp with it, or find a speaker amp that has a 3.5mm output that isn't muffled down by resistors.

He-400i is quite a bit more comfortable apparently, lighter + better fit.
 
I've had the HE-500, it was alright comfort wise, but they have new pads now that are supposed to help quite a bit.  You can buy them from Hifiman's site for $30 for the pair.  (Called the Focus Pads)
 
I liked the He-500's sound overall, pretty neutral sounding IMO.

Not unless you plan on damaging your hearing with volume levels.

Out of curiosity, which cable do you have going into the TV? Display Port?

It should honestly be fine. They don't have much heat output to begin with, you can always flip some of the intake fans to exhausts if it becomes a problem, but I honestly don't think you'll have an issue.

If you take a piece of wood, and some black spray paint, you can easily paint one coat on each side then put them back in:

Oh yeah true, I think it only took me like 30 seconds to paint one side of all of them, then I waited a few hours and flipped them over, painted the other side then waited a few hours again and double checked.

TBH I didn't sand em and it still worked fine, as long as you get a decent coat on em they'll be alright.

I'll be watercooling it eventually when I get the money, but I think I'll be finishing my setup first, since I get more benefit out of a new keyboard, second monitor, and stuff like that.
