Hollow Volition reacted to Muz in EVGA 500B for R9 390
I'd go with something more powerful if you plan to overclock.
Oh you put in the gigabyte 390, you can't overclock much because of the volt lock on that, so dw.

Too risky. Would upgrade to an EVGA B2, EVGA GS/G2 or Antec High Current Gamer.

I would not personally do this, I would not personally buy that power supply eather, look into Antec HigherCurrent Gamer or any XFX or SeaSonic power supplies. The EVGA B2 750w if you are into mail-in-rebates can be found for $45 with a mail in rebate.

Go with the MSI R9 390 though, Gigabytes has a voltage lock.

As usually said, I wouldn't recommend that EVGA unit for builds with higher power drawing components, it's not a paticuarly good supply ethier, just carries the fancy evga branding (it's a HEC unit).
i'd say go with the M12ii or the XFX TS recommended on this thread , both are pretty fineo Power supplies. or maybe pick up a Evga GS if that would be your thing. or maybe Antec HCG.

Hollow Volition got a reaction from CostcoSamples in Diagnose ADSL problem
I ran a new speedtest this morning.
I found out my line was "FUP'ed" (Fair Usage Policy) and throttled. My connection seems to have gotten back to normal after midnight - must be when they reset my line or something.
Anyway, I really appreciate all your input guys. Thanks everyone.

If you are on wifi, try something like wifi analyzer (for android devices) or maybe something like acrylicwifi.com for PC. It will tell you which wifi channels are congested and what kind of signal strength you have. Do you live close to a lot of other people? If so, expect crappy wifi due to over crowded channels. You could try a 5ghz router which is usually less congested.

Heyyo,
Try going to http://www.speedtest.net and see what your results are. Share them here please.
[EDIT]
Pinging Google? Nah, pinging them always gives poor results. It's a high-bandwith website. Just try a speed test to see if your setup is even getting the advertised speeds.
If your results aren't good? Unplug your modems/routers for about ten seconds then plug them back in. It should reset your address with your ISP. After she's all reconnected? Try running that speed test again. If it keeps acting up? You can try calling your ISP and see if there's anything on their end they can diagnose.

those ping results are pretty terrible. Are you connected using wifi? If so, try plug into the modem directly with an ethernet cable and try the ping again.
Another useful tool for network testing is speedtest.net

You're getting the supposed 4mbps to the router, so the physical connection is supposedly fine...

The FSP is pretty decent: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=341
But I would get the Antec

80+ 500Watt PSU will be enough for that build, can't speak on those power supplies in particular though.
That being said, don't get a Kingston SSDNow since their newer ones have horrible performance and horrible quality chips in them. Try and find something like a Crucial MX100.

i suggest the antech one, all the others seem shifty

Never heard of FSP, I think Antec PSUs are good. I wouldn't get a case from them though. In the future please use pcpartpicker
Welcome to the forums!
So I would get the antec one.
