Just set all fans to max and you wont hear the coil whine anymore. Well, you won't hear many things besides your fans, but still works...

My gpu coil whine like crazy when I benchmark with nova bench (never benched my pc with other software, but still), and when I run folding or mining it won't coil whine. So it could be one type of load what's causing the coil whine in your case, so I guess you could tweak software-wise (maybe changing core type, down clocking, etc.), since hardware-wise the way to solve the problem is changing the hardware.

@Taipeek: Well, CPU isn't power hungry as GPU's, and you can still put out nice PPD (take a look on the spreadsheet topic). I'm folding with a i5 3450 and a 3570k, and the PPD is decent. The AMD GPU will get tanked without core17 wus, and depending on how old are those nVidia cards they could be not supported. If they are supported, just fold and see if the PPD is worth to leave it on.

With CPU only you'll be consuming around 120W per rig (I'm guessing), 150W from the wall at 80% efficiency. Times 5, 750W from the wall every hour. At 0,26 USD for the kW/h, it'll cost you ,195 USD/h. 24/7 it'll be 140 USD in one month.

@Talsyrius: Your rig will draw about 250~300W at full load, depending on GPU overclock. At 80% efficiency your rig will draw 310~375W from the wall.

To Update - Canada Post says the new mobo will be here monday. FINALLY got RAM ordered. Was looking for some very specific GSkill Ripsaw ram that is confirmed to work in the board and support overclocking. Was having a heck of a time though getting Newegg to sort out stock, process ordering, etc. Finally got 4 kits of 2x2GB coming and 2 kits of 4x2GB. So.. coming from Jersey and Cali, so maybe a week to get here. Picked up an AX850 as well that was on sale...

So... what did come today? My smaller 4P folder. :D  The board, CPU, heat sinks and memory all arrived. The down side - very busy weekend planned. Hope to get this sucker power up though.

Love the all cooper heat sinks. They ARE heavy.

Now, just need to follow up with Spotswood on delivery times for the tech stations and be all set to go...

First up - the coolers from CM arrived as have the 4 x Opterons...

Here are some close ups of the CPU's - and no, not taking them out of the anti static until the board gets here. :)
