  2. Id still be using windows 7 if it worked properly on z590 but it doesnt. Ill use windows 10 as long as it functions. Reminder that nobody ever gave a shit about an OS going EOL or updates stopping before windows 10. I was daily driving windows XP in 2016 and was far from alone.
  3. Check the DNS settings in the router ... it may have a DNS server from Lebanon configured , change it to one of the free ones from Cloudfront (1.1.1.1) or Google (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) or OpenDNS ( 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220 ) Some sites detect the location of the DNS server asking for the IP address of the server When you type youtube.com in browser, your browser contacts the DNS server configured in your router and then the DNS server gives you the IP address of the server if it's cached in its memory or asked another server a level above it or goes to retrieve the IP from the internet ... some sites check the IP of the DNS asking for IP and give different IPs depending on location of that DNS asking.
  4. You can do this but well keep in mind that this will cost A LOT of money to run. As long as your pc is staying under thermal limits you have enough cooling no need for this. Also this isnt making maintenance easiee this just changes where you need to clean it. This also has a limited heat capacity so depending on your hardware radless is not an option. This also looks like a ripoff of some legit chillers so not sure about the quality.
  5. What do you mean? Are you thinking it would be like a traditional tower case? I've had many horizontal HTPC cases, they generally aren't made like that. Generally only the "top" will come off. So There really aren't places to hide or run the wires behind. Sometimes you can carefully run some under the motherboard. However in most cases it's not worth the trouble, as they won't be seen. You just bundle them together so they won't hinder airflow. Most HTPC cases are already a pain to deal with, you don't want to make any future upgrades more difficult. Trust me, I recently was adding an IR module to turn one of mine on with a remote, and its so much fun to have to disassemble half the thing just to add one little board into the case.
  6. God help me, I just spent $75 on a 250GB 5400RPM 2.5" drive.

.....Although it was for a very good reason - I finally got around to buying an HP Pocket Media Drive.

The drive itself is quite an attractive looking HDD, but its looks are not its main selling point.

As the successor to the Personal Media Drive, HP's hot-swap 3.5" HDD, the Pocket Media Drive offers the same hotswappability but in a tiny 2.5" package. Thusly, this little fella is mountable inside of several HP docks, as well as their Media Center streamer.

My TouchSmart IQ770 has a slot for this right in the side, so I can't wait to give this fella a shot. Docking an external HDD into an internal bay seems strange at first glance, but HP was absolutely onto something here - it's usable as an external drive on any computer with a USB cable, but can also be stuffed straight into the case on certain PCs for use internally.

Will the drive suck? Yeah, it absolutely will. Won't even hit the max speed of that 2007 laptop HDD either because it's restricted to USB 2.0 speeds. But is the concept neat? Totally!

  7. Yea that hardware would be more than enough here. I'd take that GPU out to save power. What disk config are you using? TrueNAS is probably a good pick. You probably won't use raid4 as its basically obselete now. I'd use Raid 5/6 here or the ZFS version or raidz1/z2 in TrueNAS>
  8. That was it. Just needed to reset
  9. This is not true with Primegrid. A few years ago they switched to a new validation method. This new method generates a different task called a proof task though most of the PG regulars call it a DC (double-check) task. This task takes minutes to run on nearly any hardware.

Budget (including currency): 5k max Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: video editing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): here's the current build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DD47bL, planing on spending the rest of my budget on more storage. whats your thoughts on the build?
  12. Hello everyone, I'm experiencing frustrating micro stuttering (every 5-10 seconds) issues while playing several games, including Valorant, Rocket League, and Helldivers 2. I've tried to troubleshoot the issue myself but haven't had any luck so far. Here are the specifics of my system: - Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI - GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4090 O24GB ROG Strix Gaming - CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D - PSU: Seasonic Prime PX-1000 - BIOS Version: 2613 - Memory: 2x 16GB DDR5 G.Skill F5-6000J3038F16G - Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (x64) Build 19045.4291 (22H2) - EXPO I enabled - fTPM Disabled To give you an idea of the issue, I have attached some SS showing the frame timing from Valorant, Rocket League, and Helldivers 2. From the images, you can see the irregular frame pacing which I believe is causing the stutters. Only video stutters, audio is normal. Here's what I've tried so far: - Updated all drivers, including GPU and motherboard firmware. - Monitored CPU and GPU temperatures (all within normal ranges). - Disabled fTMP based on some posts of with similar issue. - Disabled EXPO. - Fresh Windows install. - Updated BIOS from 1809 to 2613 Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Could this be an issue with my hardware setup or possibly a software/configuration issue? Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Was there ever a case of a good Apple mouse? My…

I only use MacBooks on Windows so it's not usually a problem, but in the case where it is an issue it's a duuuumb one
  14. The YouTube app itself has a way to change location within the General Settings.

I hated that, because of the way my cringy fingers are operating, I did an accidental horizontal scroll on paar with vertical one. I even remember having a mental breakdown because of that. That sounds both terrible and hilarious

I actually love the Mighty Mouse because of its horizontal scrolling capability. Clicking totally sucks but that's the case with every Apple mouse so might as well focus on the unique feature that it does really well. Apple trackpads are horrendous as well - the single button inspires a deep sadness. Needing to install a driver to get your touchpad to right-click is some of the dumbest bullshit I've ever had to deal with, because installing the driver is damn hard when you can't right click.
  18. I actually seem to have found the solution. Lock the framerate cap for me is about 165 fps. while not entirely ideal, im more of a casual player and would rather have a stable game than a million fps with crashes
  19. IIRC Windows format tool doesn't let you format partitions larger than 32GB to FAT32. You can use a different tool, but honestly I'd just pick exFAT. Individual files on a FAT32 formatted drive can't be over 4 GB in size. So if you wanted for example to put this: on a FAT32 formatted drive... you wouldn't be able to. exFAT on the other hand doesn't have such a limitation, you could in theory put a 128 PB file on a drive (if such drive existed). The only reason to keep that drive formatted as FAT32 is if you need it to work on very old operating systems & devices, think Windows XP and older, or old / cheap car radio units, something like this: TL;DR exFAT works on pretty much any modern operating system and I'd pick that if I were you.
  20. Was there ever a case of a good Apple mouse? My experience with those begins from the infamous Mighty Mouse (we had Macs in school's IT class, but they were made to run Windows because you can't teach kids some proper Pascal on Mac OS X), a mouse so terrible, it made clicking a challenge. I heard that people hated PowerPC era Apple mice as well, and the Magic Mouse seems to be terrible enough as well. Is Apple mice RnD department just cursed or whatever?
