The Sandia CPU cooler was a concept from 2011, but today Thermaltake launched the Engine 27, a low-profile CPU cooler with the heatsink-propeller design. The Thermaltake Engine 27 derives its name from its 27 mm height (meets 1U spec). Noise output figures of 13-25 dBA, depending on its speed range of 1500-2500 RPM. This high-tech billboard is designed by two Brazilian advertising agencies, is lit with fluorescent lights and emits carbon dioxide (meant to simulate mammals exhaling) and a lactic acid-laced mist (meant to simulate sweat) to attract mosquitoes.The mosquito then crawl into the sign and become trapped, eventually dying. It can attract mosquitoes from as far as 2.5 kilometers away, according to the designers. The companies believe a sign can be built for just under $200 and kill millions of mosquitoes. Hasselblad introduce the new H6D camera, available in two forms. The first is a huge 50-megapixel offering, while the second is an insane 100-megapixel camera. Both of them feature a new autofocus system that is capable of locking onto specific points, such as a subject's eye, so that the photographer can track it and adjust composition. The H6D also feature a touchscreen and 4K video recording. As for price, the 50-megapixel version costs $27,000 while the 100-megapixel camera rocks a huge $33,00 price - and for these prices, no lenses included . At GTC 2016, Nvidia demoed a prototype display that runs at about 1700Hz. Nvidia attached a VR display to a rail system and shook it back and forth rapidly. The image on the display stays in the same position relative to the camera. The logo stays visible with only a small amount of blurring, despite the rapid movement. The presenter, Nvidia’s Vice President of Research David Luebke, says that Nvidia attains this high refresh rate by "overloading the display and driving it with this kind of novel binary delta-sigma encoder kind of approach." WhatsApp is announcing that they have completed development on end-to-end communication technology. The end-to-end encryption will only work with the latest version of the WhatsApp app, but in the meantime users will be able to see which messages are encrypted or not. This move comes after the recent FBI and Apple fight over encryption, in which the FBI attempted to compel Apple to disable a security feature in iOS by creating a special version of the operating system and loading to a suspect's phone. Sony debut it consumer SSDs, with the SLW-M series. The 7 mm thick 2.5-inch form-factor drives feature SATA 6 Gb/s interface, and come in capacities of 240 GB (SLW-MG2) and 480 GB (SLW-MG4). There's no information on the controller or NAND flash type, but the company is advertising performance figures of up to 560 MB/s reads, with up to 530 MB/s writes. A 9.5 mm spacer, and a license to Acronis True image 2015 HD come included. Sony is also including its very own drive management software, the Sony SSD Toolbox.
