Yea I have some heatsinks from the aftermarket cooler I got for my 760 so I just need to find my thermal glue and throw those on since that does worry me also. I have a single 4GB DDR3 1333 stick in the Gigabyte right now and having the DDR3 does help  a lot when overclocking I did notice compared to the DDR2 :)

it's doesn't help at all if you have decent ddr2

I have a nice 2x2gb Crucial kit in the ASRock board but anything above 800Mhz just won't happen

What would you consider a safe voltage on the Q6600 and that motherboard?

I got 49.69 FPS on OpenGL with a GTX 750, and rather pathetic 281 on CPU.... It's a tired old Phenom. Any recommendations on a newer socket AM3 chip?

Do you have an AM3+ board or AM3 board and can you overclock at all?

It's an MSI 890GXM-G65 from a few years ago, It's just a plain jane AM3, no plusses or extra chipset features.

Well, I'm not a living cash register, as I blew all my money on new server equipment. About to get my first job this summer.

Good looking motherboard, I would say in your position you might just want to save up and get a new Intel board + CPU or if you want to hold off and see what Zen brings go for it :D

Tweaked some settings and tightened up the RAM a little. Seemed to help.

Ok....that's weaker than a single core in the i5 540M, and about the equivalent of 1.5 cores in this Phenom II N970. And they run at 2.5 and 2.2GHz respectively.

Oh my... guess it shows how bad the APUs single thread performance is then O_O

I'm talking about that Pentium. I'll run CPUz bench now.

Edit: 320 single threaded and 937 multi threaded. Yeah these mobile Phenom II N970 really get hurt badly by their low clock speed.

Oh I know, but seeing how close it came in single threads to that APU I am quite shocked by that
