As I replied to you in the PM already it is more than questionable buying a 2GB GPU now. But choice is yours :). You could always wait for another month or two. Or try to have a look into a used GTX970 or a used R9 290X (careful here if it was used for mining)?

How much usable vram is available on a gtx 690?

2GB.

 

It says it has 4GB VRAM, but since it's a dual GPU card: 2GB is usable

GTX 680 still performs rather good (better than the GTX 960) and since it's two of those: yeah. How much is it? (Compared to something like the R9 380 and GTX 960 for example?)

There was one being sold for 150 usd near me. Wish I bought it. Would be great for a spare build. I just love the way it looks and would put perform the pair of 660ti's I had.

Well. I could sell it in a year again, though i play bf4 is that really vram hungry?
