PC build - What would you choose?

AlexCoy13

So what build would you choose for gaming

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/VqhJK8  -  i7 4790k with ssd

OR

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/sGMmwP  -  i7 6700k with no SSD HOWEVER does have ddr4

Please do not change the build and say you would swap out X for X because i like the parts i have chose in each build

i love the air 240 case js :P

Personally, I don't think skylake nor DDR4 is all that good. So I'd go with A because of the sheer SSD that'll provide a good startup time etc.

I don't see a problem with adding in an SSD later as an upgrade.

For the Skylake use the EVO 212.

So yes, the skylake looks legit.

-EDIT-

NO NO NO

Use a Z board for a K CPU.

Nowonder the pricing is so cheap.

I see a problem with adding an SSD later. You have to migrate all of your files to a (usually) smaller disk, which is trickier.

the 1st one with a better psu. EVGA gs/g2/b2 not the b1/g1 nex series, or superflower leadex gold/platinum, xfx ts/xtr, seasonic s12ii/m12ii/s12g/g series, antec hcg

The site has changed....

i pick A but you might want to find a better PSU as the G1 is crap, you could lower the price of your motherboard (assuming the UK has a good selection) without much sacrifice appart from color scheme so your build stayed the same price

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20650y1 @AlexCoy13 here you go a G2 for only 4 quid more

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/ Tier Breakdown (My understanding)--1 Godly, 2 Great, 3 Good, 4 Average, 5 Meh, 6 Bad, 7 Awful

Then get a non K cpu.

Saves you money, and gets you an ssd.

Well no point getting a unlocked CPU if you do not plan on overclocking it.

The 3.4ghz will turbo equally with the K model, just not as well.

They are essentially the same chips but the K being better binned.
