any windows options?

whatever you find appealing - if you want it to last get a ThinkPad - else - get something disposable since those usually don't outlast the warranty

Avoid Asus, HP, Acer and Toshiba as a whole

why? asus is good with mother boards and gpus

Boards yes, GPUs hell no. Asus are the worst GPU OEM now, closely followed by Gigabrick. Both lack any form of customer support - god forbid you have to deal with either. As for Acer - crappy build, crappy cooling. HP - they're okay aside from the cheapo Pavilions. Toshiba - avoid the Satellites.

The Zenbook UX305 would be within in your budget and has a 1080p IPS screen, an aluminum body, 8GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

It doesn't have lot of horsepower, though, but it doesn't sound like you would need that.
