Case for very large MotherBoard

SiriousArts

Hey guys,

I just build a Workstation using some used and some new parts. It is running now and I really love it, but I'm struggeling to find a Case, that my MotherBoard fits in to.

The Board is 15.2" x 13 " (38.61cm x 33.02cm) large. (http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/QPI/5500/X8DTG-QF.cfm)

Do you guys have any suggestions for cases or maybe just Ideas how to find cases with this form factor?

Thanks

SiriousArts

This board is built proprietary for this server case.

Not entirely. Some are, but not all. They just need to support E-ATX motherboards, which many full towers do.

It says right on the MOBO site that it is made with the form factory Proprietary. I just read what the specs sheet said. So i would be surprised it doesnt say E-ATX rather than proprietary.

Seems you're right - my bad.

@SiriousArts, did you buy the motherboard already?

Im not knocking on the mobo, They offer a sweet looking server tower case for it that I would totally be in for if it were me. Dont know what prices or availability are like though.

Neither am I, but finding a case for that thing isn't going to be easy.

@OP I would switch to something more consumer such as the Supermicro X8DTi. It's EATX and you will have an easier time finding a compatible case.

If you already have it, then this case seems like a good fit

Thanks for helping :)

The Case, its made for is out of question, as it is about 1k$..

I already have the MoBo and I know that it doesn't have a standard size, so I'm just trying to find a case, that I can make it fit into. If I dont find one, I'll probably think of sth. else and build something or so.
