SSD pci-e 2.0/3.0 does it matter which one you pick?

Hello guys, hope you can answer me this question, if I have a m/b with pci-e 2.0 slots, does it mean you are unable to get a pci-e 3.0 or of you actually can get one is this SSD going to show a not so good prefomance on your build? if so, would it be better to buy a pci-e 2.0 SSD? and also, does having an amd m/b mean that you are unable to use intel's SSD? that question may sound really stupid but I really don't know, hope you can help me guys T-T

First things first, YOU DO NOT NEED A PCIe SSD

Unless your Linus

Because he had a hard drive.

PCIe is backwards and forwards compatible, so they'll work, it's just the available bandwidth that will be different. If you're using a U.2 SSD then AMD is a no-go, because the standard isn't implemented on AMD boards.

so going for sata is a better option? since I watched the video of linus sayn that pci-e workeed better than sata, I thought it might be a better option to look for a pci-e compatible with my m/b

PCIe = Faster than SATA BUT much more expensive.

For raw speed they're considerably better, but for general system responsiveness they don't help as much, because normal SATA SSDs are fast enough as to make opening, closing and seeking files on a computer virtually instantaneous.
