News on WD sshd?

Jandraelune

I went looking and on Seagate has a sshd atm. Ssd is not an option for me due to cost vs space needed. Have over 3tb of data on drives already....many many games installed as well as graphics creation files.

They have an SSHD that is 4TB

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

If your setup supports Intel SRT, you can somewhat easily turn your existing setup to a hybrid storage in a couple of minutes and without losing any data.

Hey there Jandraelune,

WD currently offers two SSHD drives: 2.5" WD Blue SSHD and a 3.5" WD Blue SSHD ( http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=2mvSaB ). As @Naeaes pointed out, you can use a smaller SSD to cache a larger HDD and thus get a SSHD setup. :)

Feel free to ask if you happen to have any questions.
