Still, to this day, way too many cards come without a backplate.

To be quite honest, it's a disgrace.

And at this point, the power is in the hand of the community.

 

Am I the only one who'd appreciate such a tutorial?

Cause I can't seem to find a single guide on how to make one yourself.

Usually one would use screws, but any assortment of tools would work.

It's just I am contemplating doing a similar thing myself, but the measurements and screw holes and shit mean I am likely not going to be able to pull it off :/

Take the screws out of your card and add the same length to them as the thickness of your new backplate, mill or find and buy screws matching the new lengths with the same thickness and threads.

Thanks! I was not sure if the screws were easily removable or stuck by some shenanigans, as I have kinda....sorta....

never seen a discreet GPU in person in my life....

and have an i3 with HD graphics... lmao
