Shopping for a new monitor

acctingman

This is my current monitor

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-P2770HD-27-Inch-1920x1080-Monitor/dp/B0032ANC00

This is my PC

ASRock Z97 Pro3

EVGA 220-G2-850 PSU

i5-4690K

8gb DDR3 SDRAM

Nvidia GTX 970

My Samsung looks nice but I'm wondering if my monitor is "bottle necking" my graphics potential when gaming? It's only 1920x1080 with a 5ms response time. It's nice, but I'm wondering with my GTX 970 if a better monitor my games would look nicer?

I don't do FPS, but I play a lot of rpgs (currently, Dragon Age Inqusition)

My budget is around $450.

Just seeing what my options are.

Thanks

get triple monitors, for that price you could pull it off. 3 GL2460HM's from Benq.

Triple setup would be nice, the AOC G2460FQ is priced at around 200$ so if you add another 50$ to your setup you can get a triple monitor setup, its 1080p, 144hz, 1ms response time.

Its not time yet. I suggest you wait till next year. We are supposed to get 30" 2560x1080 144hz VA monitors then. THAT would be worth to upgrade to and probably in your budget.

Right now - heres the list of all known GOOD monitors:

Yes, its all overpriced.

The best option being the asus mg279q = if you dont use it for freesync its a static 144hz IPS monitor by default, but its 550$ at the best.
