JBL Pro audio in laptops, thoughts?

Dabombinable

I'm buying another old (semi HP) Compaq Presario R3000 (2003/2004-the best laptop I have ever used) laptop with JBL pro audio and I was wondering what everyone thinks of it? I myself find that the sound is far better than what you get in newer multimedia laptops such as the HP Pavilion DV6 3010AX or Asus U38N (Altec Lansing, Bang & Olufsen ICE power) with clear sound and minimal distortion at full volume (though I'm not sure if I can compare it fairly to the Realtek audio and KTK 965 soundsystem that I use for my desktop, the speakers are old and I'm not that much of an audiophile)

I guess it can't hurt if you're one to use laptop speakers; anyone who actually cares about getting quality, full-range audio will use dedicated speakers and a sub, or at least headphones.
