Has anyone noticed the R9 Fury's price in australia

YT2002

Did you know the price of the R9 fury in australia is $999, same as the Fury X. Why is that?

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1774&products_id=32758

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

But on a serious note: Import and tax costs, and the biggest factor being low stock.

Yes true, but this is double the price of the American price. Also GTX 980 price here is $700

Wrong, Aussie dollar is worth about US73c at the moment.

I'm pretty pissed off about the pricing too, local shop has the Fury X  for $999, and Fury for $989, it should be the equivalent of US$100 less, NOT the same f'n price!

Grrrrrr @#%$!(#&%^#&*@

Lucky in a way I'm too broke to pay up at the moment anyway :P
