Help with Ram questions for laptop

cylpol1

I was looking at this laptop and had come with 4gb of intergrated ram and an empty so-dimm slot to go up to 12 gb of ram. Will I have compatibility issues if I ass another 4 or 8 stick of ram. Will that new stick of ram have compatibility issues with the integrated one if they are using different brands of ram. Also is there a way to disable the integrated ram. Also which ram will the computer use first, the integrated on or the so-dimm one. Anyways hopefully you guys can help and feedbaack is much appreciated and helpful.

Compatibility issues are low between RAM brands as long as their speed and timings are the same

If you don't use 2 x 4GB sticks, it won't run in Dual Channel mode I think. Whether what you're planning to do with it needs dual channel memory or not is up to you.

I don't know of a way to disable a RAM stick, and that laptop will likely be so locked down that it won't let you anyway.

I don't know which stick it will use first.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
