Need Help! HardDrive!

LittleCarrot

I am building a gaming pc. I am sorting out parts until I came across this:

WD Black2 Dual Drive 2.5" 120 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD Kit

http://www.amazon.com/Black2-Dual-Drive-2-5-WD1001X06XDTL/dp/B00GSJ9X4Q/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438375201&sr=1-5&keywords=WD++Black

So Should I get it?

PS: The HDD Portion is 5400RPM

With that price, HELL YEAH. If you want to, you can even use it somewhere else if you want later.

I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

Hahahahahahaha. Anyway, most of the time, a laptop hard drive is usually 5400 RPM anyway, so that isn't really a problem.

This would be a used for a gaming pc. Dose RPM = Drive Speed?

Yes, most of the time, but you don't need a fast drive for gaming. It will only effect loading time

Yes, a Hard drive reads from disks inside of the casing of the Hard drive. There is a needle that goes around and around to read from these disks. The RPM is how many revolutions per minute, meaning how many times the needle goes around the disk to read information. Therefore, the faster the RPM the faster the Hard drive.

Should I get this or 1TB 7200RPM and a 120GB SSD?

Unless you need it for a laptop, don't get this. You'll be better off with a 250gb SSD and an HDD or you can get a 120gb SSD and 1tb HDD cheaper.

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

You can get a 1tb 7200RPM HDD and a 250GB SSD for just $5 more.

Sorry for the late response, I was out of the country for a bit. To answer your question, NO! Kingston swapped out the controllers on those after reviews came in if I recall correctly and now they're crazy slow.
