Is it worth getting an upgrade?

Hey guys

I am currently running a 7870 core edition, i5 3570, 8 gb of ram and a p8h77-v from asus.

I was wondering if it is worth getting a i5 4690k, 970, z97 gaming 5 from msi and 16 gb of ram.

Since im 17 this is an insane amount of money to me so I'd rather know for sure if its worth it.

Btw. The machine is for gaming

not worth a system rebuild.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Your CPU, motherboard, and RAM are perfectly fine, just slap a GTX 970 in there and call it a day. Save your money and buy a bunch of games instead.

not really worth it, if you need more ram then do that

 

A gpu upgrade would improve your gaming performance

Spend money on a new GPU or some extra RAM (But 8gb is still pretty good) Like the CPU and MOBO is still great for gaming

If it is for gaming you DON'T need more ram, just get new GPU and you are golden.
