1150 Board Options

Would it be recommendable to have a mini-ATX board on an i5-4690K and a single GTX 970 with a custom loop? I'm not planning on multiple cards or SLIs and RAID slots though. And would it look bad if I put it on a NZXT S340 case?

for what do you need a watercooled single 970/4690k? I don't think that is worth the price...

That case can fit a full sized ATX board. Just get a full sized Z97 ATX for your build.

Just an option, it's either I go S340 or any other smaller case that could fit a 970

As much as I want to, I wanna do a custom loop for myself

I can only afford a B85 for a board.

Your Mobo is a super imporant part of your build.

Without a z97 you can not overclock. Do not do a custom loop, and get a z97.

Hmm.. What about a B85 with an AIO CPU loop? Though I'll not overclock either 4690K or 4590 (Whatever fits my budget between the two procs)

Why would you use a custom loop, if you aren't ocing? Just for the looks?

Honestly, get better hardware then if you have the cash, buy a loop down the road.

My final decision is a 4690K + Z97 MSI Gaming 3, with a Corsair H60
