What is the best free video editing software on windows?

Windows Movie Maker, VSDC, or Lightworks

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel

After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

For me I just use Windows Movie Maker. I know you might cringe when you hear the sound of pre-Installed software, but it is the best I found for free. (on windows)

Just pirate something like Camtasia or Vegas Pro, it works great.

davinci resolve lite is by far the best free editor. Its quite powerful even for a free editor and has really great color grading tools.

Unfortunately there really isn't all that many free video editing software that would be better than Windows Movie Maker (the latest version, that is. Not the XP-era scheise). I have tired Lightworks, but even that isn't much better than Movie Maker, if at all. The Windows Movie Maker is crap, and only usable for very basic stuff, but for a free video editing software, it will do.

You can also look for some older versions of some video editing software, like Sony Vegas Movie Studio 12 (though for under 100€ Movie Studio 13 Platinum is acquirable, which is even better). It's like the Pro version with maybe one or two restrictions, but it's a lot cheaper than the pro version. (it is aimed towards professionals after all, like the name suggests).

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.
