Should I go for Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over Ear?

gurnben

Hey guys,

I'm recommending a new pair of headphones for a friend and she has some specific wants:

Bluetooth to a Samsung note 4

Completely cordless operation with the option to still use a cord if needed

Foldable and portable for a trip to asia

Well-build/hopefully metal construction... She has a tendancy to break her tech...

The best possible sound quality... She currently has a pair of high end Bose headphones and momentum 1.0s.

My searching led to the sennheisers momentum 2.0s as the best option, but what do u think, are there any other better options.

Also sorry for the abbreviations as I am on mobile!

Well, there really isn't that much else out there that will do wireless as well as wired, while still having a metal construction and great sound. You are pretty much looking at the only thing on the market that can check all of those boxes. Plus, if something does break, she can send it in to Sennheiser for warranty service, and Sennheiser has great customer service.

Hey! New SIgnature!

I'm supposedly a person on the Internet, but you'll never know if I'm human or not ;)

The Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 (wired) is an absolute fantastic all around headphone. It sounds good with just about any song I throw it at. Though, I personally wouldn't recommend the wireless version because it actually sounds worse even using it in wired mode. This is because unfortunately there is no way to turn off the active noise cancelling in the headphone which does alter the sound. It actually sounds worse than the original momentum 1.0. But as stated above, the wired Momentum 2.0 is absolutely fantastic.

Oh, and I recommend you check out MacedonianHero list of the top 25 closed back/portable headphones of all time. He's a great reviewer and is a top contributor over on Head-Fi, here's the link- http://www.head-fi.org/t/672743/comparisons-25-of-the-top-closed-portable-headphones-around

He ranks the Momentum 2.0 as the best closed back/portable headphone he's ever listened to.
