PC System Failure

So in the past 3 days, I have been experiencing some strange crashes on my PC. When I play Battlefield 4, the game will run smoothly, but randomly my PC with reboot, which I assume is because of a system failure. Also, whenever I start up Warthunder, my PC doesnt reboot, it just crashes. Skype crashes, steam crashes, and warthunder crashes. It also makes it so that I cant open the task manager (not by right clicking taskbar, nor Ctrl+Shift+Esc, or even Ctrl+Alt+Del). And especially today, Sims 3 crashes, and it will do exactly what Warthunder does. I am stumped with this, and so is my friend who knows a lot more than me.

On Battlefield 3, I usually get a blue screen then a restart (only happened twice)

Battlefield 4, black screen then BIOS startup

Warthunder, infinite loading on login screen

Sims 3, window becomes shaded, refuses to close, shuts down PC

My system specs (if it matters) are: AMD FX 4350, R9 290, 8 gb ram, 2 WD HDD, and an ASRock 990 FX Extreme

The building blocks of shushi are:

Shushi meat, peaches, and guacamole

WHOA HUGE BOTTLENECK.  4350 with a 290? Holy fuck, your CPU can't even come close to pushing that GPU.  Anyways, about your problem.  Maybe reinstall windows, and make sure your PSU is certified with enough watts to run that GPU.

I know theres a bottleneck, I have to wait until I can get a better CPU, and I had just reinstalled windows a little more than a week ago. My PSU is 5 watts under running the 290, but in Afterburner I turned down the power usage on the card, the Battlefield 3 crashes were overdraws, I havent had that problem since.

Yeah, never go under the recommended amount.  Even if your GPU isn't drawing the power, your CPU or motherboard could be.  What power supply are you using? If it's a no-name brand, that could be the problem.

I know that I have marked this as solved, but I am now opening it back up again. I discovered (about 20 minutes ago) that my game crashes are cause by "App Hanging". I found this out when I opened up PayDay 2 after dropping another couple bucks on DLC. Well the game crashed, I finally got it to close without shutting down my PC, and my friend said to open Event Viewer. So I did, and I pulled up the crash log for PayDay 2, and this is what it says:

So, to make sure the CPU does keep up, should I overclock my CPU in the BIOS?

Overclocking will increase power draw though.

So then should I tune down the 290 so it uses less power, then OC the CPU to use up the power the GPU isnt using?

Try it without Skype? Whenever I open skype after about 2 minutes, it blue screen me. It could be conflicting with something else? (I do not use skype anyway now. I use TS or Steam Chat) - Try it if overclocking the CPU did not work.

Dude, just upgrade your CPU and power supply.  You'll only increase power draw by doing that.  Not to mention, I don't even know if your CPU can keep up if it's been overclocked.

CPU bottlenecking will generally not cause crashes; power supply or system hanging can indeed cause this.

Make sure you don't have your CPU overclocked at all as BF4 has been known to cause even the most stable heavy Overclock really get itself tested; whereas stress tests generally run the CPU at 100% with alternating power input; BF4 constantly draws max TDP and max frequency but does not cap the CPU out at 100% usage; meanwhile you also have extra heat generating from the GPU(s).

if that's not the case you should really look into picking up at least an FX 6300 but personally I'd go for a FX 8320, or 8350. Are any of your parts used?
