Smite lag with others on same connection. Any solutions?

My girlfriend and 2 friends of mine have recently gotten into Smite. We have been trying to play this game together on my internet, which is a stable 50mbps connection through TWC. However, when we try to play together using my router in the same games, we are experiencing a teleporting lag quite often. It isn't rubberbanding really, just a short teleport that is frequent enough to cause gameplay to be considerably more difficult. I have tried setting unique static IP's to my both my girlfriend's laptop and my own, and either I did this wrong or it didn't help any. My modem/router is aNETGEAR N450 WiFi DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Router (N450-100NAS). Any help or tips I could try to reduce lag when we game together would be great. Thanks!

Does it happen in other games? Are you using Ethernet or Wifi? Is your ping higher than usual? Lots of missing + potentially important information missing. :\

I am using wired, but it seems to happen both wired and wireless for us. It is primarily in Smite, but I don't play any other MOBA's so it is hard to say. Doesn't seem to be an issue much in shooters though. Ping during the lag seems to be around 120-130 for my girlfriend. She lags more than I do on my desktop when she uses the laptop, but that is consistent with both wired and wireless connections. After running speedtest, it says I have 8ms Ping, 56.26mpbs download speed, and 5.72mbps upload speed. This should be plenty fast enough I believe, but the lag is still present. If you need to know anything else, just ask. Thanks.

Anyone able to find anything to help? Maybe router settings that would improve performance?
