Possibly to get help for a new build

Dispersion

Hello, I am new to the forums but I see a lot of cool and usefull threads.I will introduce myself later so lets get to my question.

I am going to build myself a custom PC for light-medium gaming:

* CS:GO

* League of Legends

* Need For Speed Rivals (not really)

I am thinking to get Intel i7 but I cannot decide if I need the Intel Core i7-4790K or Intel Core i7-4790 (without the K).

I dont understand a lot for overclocking and stuff, I already have Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

So can anyone suggest me which one should I get, also SSD and motherboard for the i7?

Honestly, if you aren't doing any editing, and just gaming, get an i5 or cheaper, the i7 won't really add much in gaming situations. Also unless you like that RAM's visuals, you can find some cheaper ones.

Desktop: i7-4790k, Samsung 840 EVO 250GB, Seagate Barracuda 3TB, 2xR9 290 Vapor-X's (1 working atm), Asus Z97-Pro, NZXT H440 White, 16GB G. Skill Sniper RAM, NZXT HALE V90 850W.

Laptop: Samsung Chromebook 11.6"

Phone: 8GB Galaxy S4

if you're using the pc only for gaming and mediocre video editing, an i5 should be good plus you can save a few bucks there.

K cpus are overclockable. Z97 motherboards supports overclocking LGA1150 chips by intel. overclocking is easy, there is a subforum for it where you can ask questions if you run into any problems.

I would always suggest an SSD.

I already got the ram and I want my pc to be good enough for long time.

Money is not big problem for me.

Can you suggest me SSD and motherboard for the i7 4790 one?

your better off getting a xeon 1231v3 instead of a 4790, there performance is the same but the Xeon cost 70$ Less, the best SSD for the $ is the MX100.

My recommendations for an ssd is samsung 840 EVO, you can decide on how much space you need, or how many ssd's you need.

what are you looking for in a motherboard?

do you need sli or crosfire support?

do you need more pci slots for future upgradability?

more sata slots, m.2, wifi adapter, etc.

Cause I cannot recommend any motherboard with out knowing these things

Honestly I have no idea what those means,this is my first time building a PC and I am generally listening to what people say rather than going all in.I wouldnt mind spending more money for something that I will be able to upgrade later on, I already have the ram mentionted above, I will be getting the i7 4790 and I want to add motherboard and ssd which will work together so feel free to suggest me something better which I will be able to upgrade/replace.

Any motherboard that has support for a LGA 1150 chip (which is the socket for your cpu i7 4790) and SATA 6Gb/s should work (which is the connector for the SSD) and a dual kit support for your RAM at 1.5v supporting 1600MHz.

The MSI Z97 PC MATE mentioned by zappian will work just fine.

You SHOULD do research on what is a motherboard and all computer components, check linus techquickie videos on youtube.

If you are not willing to spend time researching, I think you are better off buying a completed build. but that is not fun :)

CS:GO and LOL will run well on basically any modern CPU out there. An i5 is complete overkill for you, though it's easily the best bang for your buck CPU for AAA gaming.

i5 is still nice.

If OP has the money why not xD.
