Game video FPS

Guest Console Peasant

When i'm watching youtube or twitch I like to watch in 60 fps because it's more smoother, but when the games are running at 30fps (like an old ps2 game) it shouldn't be smoother at 60fps right? But it does, for me at least, but it doesn't make sence to me, why would 60fps help in a 30fps, it goes against logic.

Why does 60 fps help with 30fps games?

It helps a lot, not only because it's smoother, if they want to edit the video like to add slow motion, it's better at 60 fps.

I already know this, but you contradict yourself, why is streaming a 30fps game at 60 smoother?

Generally they play back at a higher bit rate, its also possible that there is some frame interpolation going on and the video is being "upscaled" to 60fps just like TVs upscale to 800hz
