My first build: Bane

seandisbro

This is my very first build and took a lot of time to get all the parts that made sense both for a budget and for performance.

CPU: Intel Pentium g3258 running at 4.0Ghz

MOBO: ASRock H81-DMS

GPU: EVGA GeForce 750ti SuperClocked

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 4gb (plan to soon upgrade to 8gb)

PSU: Corsair 430w 80+ bronze

Optical: Samsung DVD read/write

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB @ 7200rpm

Case: Corsair SPEC-01 RED

I chose micro ATX equipment inside a full ATX MidTower case for better airflow as I have 2 corsair 120sp fans. I haven't seen temperatures go about 60 for either the CPU or GPU even while running prime95

Yes the JerryRigged little PSU cover is cardboard BUT it works as intended and makes a nice looking cover, and when the case panel is on you can't notice the low quality materials. I don't have the time, money, or materials to make a proper one.

As this is my first build I am looking for constructive criticism and plenty of comments.

There are a few upgrades I am looking into in the very near future such as a i5 processor, a better CPU cooler, and another 4GB of ram.

Thanks for looking and have a nice day!

There should be a hole above the area of the 4 pin for the CPU power that you can route that cable through instead of putting it out in front of the mobo.

And why such a small mobo?

MATX boards are generally cheaper and he stated that he wanted the MATX stuff for better airflow.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

I don't see how a smaller mobo would really make a noticeable impact on airflow as it doesn't really block any airflow, but whatever floats his boat.

I tried and the hole is behind the motherboard and it wouldn't allow me to correctly route it so the way I have it is really the only option. I might mod the case a little later on to fix that but in the meantime it will work. Can't really see it when the case panel is on and lit up.

I really cheaped out on the mobo honestly. It works really well for what I need and has a really awesome bios like ASRock does.

You possibly could remove the mobo then put the cable through, then put the mobo back in, I know that's the case (ha pun) with some cases.
