Help with my build. Display issue

Werdna

I build my pc for the first time. So when i connect my vga to the mother board monitor showed 1080p. But after i put my graphics card in nothing shows up black screen...... Why?

I also tried connecting my vga on my gtx 970 with vga-dvi i dual link and it works but the max resolution was 800x600. My monitor is 22inch 1080p

The output on the motherboard video turns black if you have a GPU installed because your motherboard knows you want the gpu performance, not intergrated graphics;

As for the low resolution: Just update your video drivers. You can find them on the Nvidia website.

That time I saved Linus' WiFi pass from appearing on YouTube:

Why not give it a try?

You could also *Gasp* use the driver disk.  You can always install the newer drivers later

Also why not download on another device and move over USB?
