Budget? The 850 Pro is more expensive than something like an MX100 would be, and you can get an FM2 CPU and not an APU. That'll save some money too.

My Minecraft runs at maxed out everything, 1080p with a GTX980 and i7-4790k hitting about 150fps-ish in online games.

You could probably get away with a pentium g3258 if thats any cheaper, and I'd go for the samsung 840 evo as its a bit cheaper of an ssd but still pretty good.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

You don't need an 850 pro for this system, use a cheaper SSD such as the Crucial MX100 or 840 EVO and move the money to a better CPU.

Do not combine an APU with a graphics card, rather buy a better CPU as the graphics part of an APU will not be in use when running the 270x.

Ok I will change the SSD to an 840 Evo 256GB SSD instead, I will probably stick with the 6600k though as I would only getting what he needs, I know the built in GPU will be redundant though
