6GBs 1067 MHz vs. 4GB 1333 MHz

Found some old ram and decided to plug it into my computer. That increased the overall capacity but reduced the speed.

 

So which one is better?

 

6GBs of Ram at 1067 MHz

 

or 

 

4GBs of Ram at 1333 MHz

for gaming the 6GB should be better but depends on your pc and what you want to do

speed CAN make a difference above 1600mhz there is very little but below 1333 is pretty slow, maybe stick to 4gb 1333

Depends what you are doing, both have their pros and cons though I suspect 6GB would be better in most scenarios

I thought DDR3 only went down to 1333MHz...

no it dousnt it goes lower here

Well he should stick to 6GB anyway because 4GB is kinda cutting it short, and there is a good chance the timings on the 1067 is lower than on the 1333 so it should mostly cancel out the speed difference.

Yes and more ram until you hit 8gb is always great

in everything but bandwith dependend scenarios like rendering. but if you are bandwith dependent, you are also capacity dependent, so you wouldnt be running 4GB anyway...

 

And to OP, since youre now running 1066 you can tighten the timings on the 1333 kit a little
