looking to buy a S-IPS monitor but need help

Deff not Chibi

so im looking to buy this monitor here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-YAMAKASI-300-LEONIDAS-30-LED-2560X1600-WQXGA-LG-IPS-DVI-D-Computer-Monitor-/141448822700?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item20ef01bfac

however it says i need a dual-link dvi-d connection only so can anyone list me of nvidia gpus that support this?

Most new gpu's (4XX up) have support for dual link dvi d, you just need to make sure you have a dvi d cable.

i was originally going to buy a gtx 750 ti but all of them have a dvi-i connection and no dvi-d and can some one explain what dual link actually is? i picture it as i picture it as 2 dvi-d males to a single dvi-d male so 2 dvi-d ports power one monitor?

Welcome to the forums @Deff not Chibi! :D All of the modern graphics card today have DVI-D inputs so you shouldn't be worried about the compatibility between the two. :)

found this 750 ti here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121855&cm_re=gtx_750_ti-_-14-121-855-_-Product

this has dvi-d and dual link the only problem is this gpus max resolution is what the monitors above is witch is 2560x1600 how would this hurt the performance of the card or should i buy a gtx 760 instead?

my gtx 7800 has support for dvi-dl

Here in austria the cheapest 750ti, from zotac, has a dvi d connector.

However for that monitor i really recommend a GTX 970 or AMD R9 290/X.
