1440p IPS 60hz monitors

Pheelo

I'm getting a 1440p IPS 60hz monitor but I'm unsure of which one is the better in terms of stuff like input lag?
Would the BenQ GW2765HT be a good choice, it's the cheapest one in Denmark at the moment.
Or is the asus PB278QR or Dell U2713HM better?

It would seem from looking around that the asus PB278QR is somewhat delayfree according to this man:

That makes this monitor more interesting than the BenQ monitor to me.

QNIX would probably be your best bet, but if you want to spend extra the Asus PB278QR monitor is probably the best 1440p monitor.

Thing is QNIX QX2710 doesn't even seem to be avaible in my country. The cost isn't that much of a problem.

I think the PB278QR is the better option.

The BenQ BL2710PT is much better then the overrated PB278Q. Lower pixel response, better saturated colors, less ghosting, etc.

Not sure about the QR, but personally I'd still go for the BenQ.

The BenQ is VA while the DVI only QNIX is Samsung PLS {IPS}

QNIX overclocks to a proper 96hz.

QNIX has great response time because of the minimal signal processing.

QNIX is atleast 150 dollars cheaper too.

The trade off is the QNIX has blacklight bleed but then again there is no guarantee any 'cheap' 1440p won't have that.

I can see why you would think that, but no, the BenQ uses its own version of IPS called AHVA (Advanced Hyper Viewing Angle). You're getting confused with AMVA. It is most certainly an IPS monitor. So, no need to worry about that. ;)

I'd advise you to do some thorough researching before comparing any monitors against each other. Especially if you're trying to convince someone to go with one particular monitor over another. Know your display technologies well. You need to keep up-to-date with them so that when you recommend one product over another your recommendation is given with thorough research done. ;)

You are right I did mistake it.

With that said the multiple input Qnix uses that exact same AU Optronics AH-VA panel and it's reported to have issues such as: skipped frames when overlocked high enough and higher input lag / worse response time compared to the Samsung PLS variant.

It's still cheaper than the real Benq tho

No worries mate, just thought I'd clear that up. :)

Simple solution - Don't OC it! ;)

Eh...not worried about response times and input lags myself.

It's still cheaper than the BenQ though.

Well, it's all down to personal preference. :)

I got a GTX 980 so last gen games play at more than 60fps thus I like having my monitor clocked at greater than 60hz

+

I watch a lot of 24fps movies and they sure look cinematic with my monitor clocked to 96hz.

I never said the QNIX was bad. If you look above I was the first one to suggest the QX2710. However everyone seems to love the Asus for some reason, and wants to spend that much on a 1440p monitor, blatently ignoring the QNIX.

Also the QNIX for the most part can overclock to 120Hz.

The BenQ GW2765HT is a damn near perfect monitor and BenQ's warranty is top-notch if there is an issue.  For bang for your buck; Qnix / X-star is good, but if you have issues.. a ship back to Korea can be a hassel.  The PB278Q is a popular choice, but has PWM implemented in to it; the QR version you have in your post is updated, but from what I understand many have issues and defects in the panel with stuck pixels or dead ones being common.  The GW2765HT also is an AH-VA panel compared to most of them, so it is a very decent quality panel, low input lag / good response and vivid.  So, I vote the BenQ.  You can't go wrong and they naturally seem to offer slightly better colors than Asus in many regards - gaming series to their professional series.  Not sure why that is.  Good luck with your choice, eh.

Hi

Did you decide on a 27" monitor? And if so, which one did you pick?
