Carbon Fiber Sleeved PSU Cables

Hi there ladies and gentlemen,

In my upcoming PC build i will be using a Cooler Master V650 as my power supply, I love the power supply but the thing is because it is not fully modular I cannot swap the cables for red cables that will match my colour scheme. Now i was wondering is it maybe possible to buy some carbon fibre car sticker and wrap that around it and if this would work or maybe buy some red tape and wrap that around it. I do not really like the looks of the cables so I would like to know if there maybe is a way to make my "stuck on" cables red without having to cut the wires, put a sleeve around it and then reconnect everything to the 24pin head.'

Thanks in advance,

Jurjen

Purchase any brand of cable extensions. Then have only the red part of the cable show. :)

EDIT: My choice, however kind of expensive are bitfenix alchemy cables, but, they are a lot cheaper than custom cable sleeving.

Thank you for the reply I am aware of the extention cables but I have one problem with that and that is as I said above my V650 is not fully modular being so my 24pin, 8pin and some other cables are already there so I cannot detatch those and simply plug in another red pair. Ofcourse I could just connect it to the already attached 24 pin and run that through but then i would have like a 70cm cable.

yea but if you take time to manage your cables you'll be fine if your case is good enough with cable management , but this is your best and cheapest and easiest option , i did it with mine and it looks fine =)

Does it change anything in the performance of the powersupply (inconsistencies etc.) to the mobo if you attach a extention cable to the existing 24pin connector and run the extention cable to the mobo?

Oh I thought you were looking for carbon fiber sleeving. That would look epic and I haven't seen a build with sleeving like that yet. But you're best bet is to make a tasteful stealth cover to go over your permanently attached cables like @Oshino Shinobu suggested and just wrap that or paint it to match your case.

No you cannot wrap them in carbon fibre wrap. Vinyl wrap is very stiff, and it would only work properly and stay on if your cables were all completely straight.

If you vinyl wrap the cable you will not be able to bend it in a curve, it will just kink in places like a hard tube.

The best choice would be to buy custom sleeved cables for your PSU (very expensive) or just buy sleeved cable extensions (much cheaper)
