Setup lots of android tablets

I have 50 tablets to set up, and I am wondering if there is any way of speeding up the process instead of manually configuring them all (installing apps setting up the apps ect).

Rooting IS NOT an option.

I have looked into using a backup from one and restoring others seems to not work (looked into Holo backup has a big disclaimer saying it will only back up the same device)

The tablets I have are Asus K013

I have experience imaging computers and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do similar for android to reduce man hours spent on it

There are apps that can backup and restore apps but if you want settings and stuf you will need to make a backup of the rom and flash it. But it may involve rooting

Then you're out of luck. The only way to do what you're suggesting is to root, probably unlock bootloader, and backup the entire ROM in a custom recovery.

If rooting isn't an option, there isn't a way to avoid setting them up individually.
