Quick question about multi-monitor

VortexS
Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

It depends on whether or not your cpu/motherboard has integrated graphics. If either of them do, you can plug it into either. Otherwise, you have to use the graphics card.

Hi guys, I have a really quick question.

I want to connect another monitor to my PC, but this monitor only has an HDMI and a VGA port.

Can I connect this second screen to my motherboard HDMI connector or do I need to connect this one to my GPU as well for it to work properly as an extended screen?

You can connect it to the motherboard, but it will run off integrated graphics --- so if you're not doing anything intensive on it, then its fine.

Either way should work, ofc the onboard will be lower spec will will be fine. Give it a try and have a play with combinations.

I was planning to use it as a screen for my browser, so that will work on my motherboard connector then, thanks!

i would recommenced  you put your GPU but it SHOULD work in your motherboard
