3D Video Camera

Hey looking for a prosumer camera that can shoot 3D footage, budget is a couple of thousand dollars. 

 

Any suggestions? Canon is my brand preference, but can't find any they make, but anything that supports a canon lens perhaps!

hmm i highly doubt that there are factory made prosumer 3D options out there.

 

even profesionals( big budget movies) prefer to use something more make shift since it's cheaper/easier.

what kinda looks like this.

 

but for prosumer/consumer this option is far form realistic due to it's size and weight.

 

the only viable option i see are camcorders with 2 lenses, altough that leaves you to sony and panasonic mostly and makes you unable to use lenses form canon or a lens mount converter(allows you to use canon lenses on nikon device's or whatever floats your boat)

Yea I've done some research and I'll phone up the studio guys in the morning and see if we can rig something up with the cameras we currently have.

Panasonic had made a 3D lens for the micro 4/3 system. And they apparently also have a bunch of adapters.

if you are planning to go with a set up like in my previous post, here is a little list to keep in mind.

 

-distance between the lenses determines the 3D effect

-this effect is reached with a 1 way mirror between the camera's.

-when editing set the secondery layer(your choice wich) get's set on something like 50-60% IIRC
