Corsair HX1050 Or Thermaltake Toughpower Grand TPG-850M ?

Dive5885

This is going to be for my 3-way crossfire 7950 and AMD FX build.

Both support quad gpu's but I never had a corsair or Thermaltake power supply.

What would you guys recommend ?

Thanks!

No, as opposed to Thermaltake. I saw a case and a PSU from them and they felt flaky to me.

I could be very wrong

Thermaltake's higher end offerings aren't bad at all. I have a low end Thermaltake PSU (TR2) and it's crap, but the ToughPower Gold is a very decent PSU

I've only delt with the low end stuff. What do you recommend to the OP?

I can go with a Seasonic Psu if that's the best of the best.

The Thermaltake TPG-850M isn't a bad PSU. It's based on the DSG platform from CWT like the first-gen Corsair TX950.

Seeing how they are about the same price range, I would go with the HX1050 over the TT.

Since you are from the US though, you could get the 1000w version of the EVGA Supernova G2 for cheaper. As such I would recommend that.

Excellent unit. But 3-way & 8350 will leave no headroom. Get the 1000W variant.

Other options include Supernova 1000, HX1000i.
