Any news for the card? Ive been wanting to change my 9500GT. And do you think that it will be more powerful than a r9 280 because ive seen one that is cheaper than a 760 here. Thanks

Yes it will probably be more powerful than an R9 280 because Maxwell is turning out to be great on the 970/980 for price-to-performance. However we can't be sure until we actually see it and see benchmarks of it. Also it remains to be seen whether nvidia will stick to 2GB VRAM for the X60 cards or if they'll bump it up to 3GB or 4GB, as they did for the 970. Of course the R9 280 has 3GB so that's an important consideration if you plan on moving up to 1440p.

Maybe it will be a 20nm chip. But if it's based on GM204 don't hold your breath. Nvidia don't give a lot of horsepower to the GTX X60 cards. Look at the 760 for example. I'm sure that it will come with 2GB of VRAM. The good guys of Maxwell are the 980 and the 970. But hey, maybe I'm wrong and the 960 will be an awesome card.

It's up to you :)

I'd wait. All Maxwell cards (first with the GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti, and later with the GTX 980 and 970) have turned out to be awesome.

Still waiting for the card. OCing and pushing my 9500GT so I can play GTA4 on high with low rendering. My head is hurting from playing it. Hahaha

Its a safe bet it will be faster than the R9 280. It kinda has to be in order for it to make sense behind the 970. I'd expect it to perform similarly to the GTX 770 or R9 280X, possibly a little faster.
