Are these good cpu temps?

Go to solution Solved by laxer,

even with an hp mobo you should be able to get into bios and check the system information.

With everything else you've stated it is probably just a bad sensor as others have stated...

It's obviously getting and dissipating heat correctly.

before i changed the thermal paste and installed a hyper 212 evo i was getting 105 Celsius on iddle

this is what i got after applying new thermal paste and a hyper 212 evo and running a cpu stress test

Are you even sure the reading is correct? I mean those temps are thru the roof, too damn high! Any other software that measures temps?

No. It's not good. 80°C is already pushing it as the max acceptable temps, but 89 is too high for comfort. You're not hitting thermal throttling, so it's not the worst thing ever, but it's still not something I'd be content with as you're likely to see degradation over the years.

uhhh... not really

How is your airflow? Ambient Temp?

If installed correctly with decent airflow it shouldn't get much over mid 70s even at full load

I've mostly heard that you don't want to go above 85C, but some other members have been saying that AMD CPUs shouldn't run any higher than 60C-65C under constant load (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/236953-safe-temps-to-run-all-night/). Unless you're heavily overclocking, your cooler is installed incorrectly, or the airflow around your case is terrible, I don't see why you should be getting temps so high (unless sensors are bad).

What's the orientation of the h212?

Fans towards the front/back of the case or towards the top/bottom?

Also picture may help

The temp sensor on those APUs is a useless piece of poop. Best idea would be a laser thermal thing and point it kind of at the base of the apu.

how bad are the temp sensors

also its warm to the touch not scolding hot

they don't work really, trust me I've gone through about 15 fm2 chips. software incorrect, only reports uncore, gpu etc, or in the case of coretemp: nothing.

only place I've found accurately recording fm2(+) cpu temp is the uefi.

You can edit it but, probably isn't even worth it.

If you're that worried you can just flush and renew to get a new one assuming your isp allows it.

Everything looks correct in terms of how you have it oriented.

Is the metal on the H212 warm to the touch?

What are the temps in bios?
