i recommend a hybrid drive and btw the black doesnt have a noticeable performance increase over the blue

But they don't have an advantage over a SSD and HDD and have two points of failure....

Black- More reliability, more performance ( I think)

WELCOME TO THE LTT FORUMS!!! :)

More performance. Less reliability. More noise. More power. More money.

Good point!

Not that familiar with WD drives, but I have a Blue and Black in an Old HP, and I love the black.

Just go with the blue, you're better off saving the money to spend elsewhere in the build (e.g. GPU/CPU upgrade, CPU cooler, or something that will actually get you some sort of benefit either in terms of performance or noise or whatever's important for you). Or just save the money for an SSD in the future.

From what I can see you are going to use it for primary for storage. The Blue one will handle it without any problems. And you can play some not so heavy games on it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hope this helps,

Looks like the Blue is what I should buy and save the $20.
