Do I need to upgrade my PSU?

Hey guys I just recently upgraded to X99 and while playing BF4 my system just restarted itself so im thinking my Corsair 860i just doesnt have enough juice to run my system and I'm considering picking up a 1200i. Current specs are as follows -

Hmmm I think im going to pick up one of these http://www.amazon.com/P3-International-P4460-Electricity-Monitor/dp/B000RGF29Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1411410007&sr=8-2&keywords=kill+a+watt and see how much I'm watts I'm pulling while gaming. Hopefully its not an issue with my OS.

have you got any other game to try? BF4 is riddled with problems so to eliminate that, try stress testing your cpu and gpu, atleast you'll narrow down your problem a little and if it survives the stress test then you'll know your hardware is ok ( well your psu/cpuram/gfx) =)

Yea I've tried other games/stress tests and so far it hasn't happened yet, its just I feel uncomfortable if my system is not getting sufficient power. Also I never had any kind of restarting while gaming issues back when I was on Z87.

No a few times so far and it varies sometimes its 10 minutes in, sometimes it's 30 min - 1hr in.

Yes I have updated to the lastest 344.11 drivers, I cant revert to older ones because then G-Sync does not work properly.

iv just looked it up there are some people complaining that the drivers are causing g-sync to crash BF4 hang on i'll find the link

These guys are reporting crashes of BF4 not their entire system restarting, also those posts are from over a week ago on older drivers, the current ones I'm using were available on the 19th. I think i'm going to pick up that wattage tester and see how many watts I'm pulling if its below 860w then I'll know for sure its not the PSU.

and just a thought have you trying playing for a little bit at low settings? i assume it wont draw the same amount of power then, and then slowly increase settings untill you crash? might give you some indication.

Yea I tried that restarts happen on High & Ultra presets, which is leading me to believe my PSU is underpowered for my current build. Like I said im getting that wattage tester so I can know for sure if I need to upgrade the PSU.

Your current psu is plenty strong enough. There must be something else causing the problem. Try running the pc with one gpu and see if it still does it.
