Project Red Panda

Hazorazor

This build is inspired by the red panda, making as much use of the colours black and red whilst keeping the backdrop and other highlights white. This is my first build where I will document more than just the final product. Hope you enjoy.

I decided to open my new case (Phanteks Enthoo Pro White) and install the NZXT 200mm White LED fan properly as I had been thinking how they are installed in the Enthoo Pro. Last time I screwed the fan in on an angle with only two screws, however I found that I could use the lower fan holes on the fan and screw with the head facing down and the threading just going into the top using the front/hdd fan screws. Below is a shot of the top and rear fan which should let you see what I did.

Then I spent around an hour managing my case and fan cables, they already come somewhat managed however I wanted much cleaner runs of the cables and for the fan cables especially to be in the right spots. During this process I got rid of the included fan hub as I want to use the onboard fan control of my Maximus VI Hero which I have decided to continue using. For now all i'm waiting on is my new power supply (EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W) as it was a great deal and want to make some money off selling my previous power supply (Corsair AX760). For now I am hoping to use an MSI GTX 980 and may go SLI to run my 4K monitor (Dell UP2414Q) well and with less power usage than my current GPU (XFX R9 290). Below is how the cables current are tied down, really liking the Velcro tie downs as well.

The other parts which I also current have are my CPU (Intel Core i5 4670K @4.2GHz), SSD (Samsung 840 EVO 250GB), HDD (Seagate Desktop SSHD 2TB), CPU Cooler (Phanteks PH-TC12DX Black Edition), one half of my RAM (Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4GB White) hoping to get another 2x4GB in Red in the coming weeks or black haven't decided yet. For now until I can get the money some people owe me and sell of some of my older stuff I will continue to use my current GPU, however i'm not sure where ill put its radiator right now as I want to keep the 200mm fans and the 140mm fan in place since i'm going to go all aircooling for this one. Below are some pics I took of the RAM and CPU Cooler in their packages (will post others out of box if requested).

Final thoughts is that I also want to buy some of the silverstone cable extensions in the red and black split colouring for the CPU 8 Pin, Motherboard 24 Pin and the PCIE 8 Pin connectors. Will try to update as soon as I do anything else. If you have any other suggestions or comments feel free to post below or follow this post. Any further updates will be edited into this post with a date underneath each entry.

Ok, so my power supply finally came after 4 days of waiting even with express shipping which is only meant to take 2 days... So I put it in got all the cables tied into place and started tearing apart my old rig (sorry there is no photos of that, I get carried away and can't stop to take pics). Anyway I finally got the motherboard into the new case, plugged everything in (I mean pretty much everything into the PSU as well such as all the PCIE cables and all the SATA cables just in case I need them as I don't want to take off the cover again). So this system is now ready to fill the drive cages if needed and also do SLI/Crossfire. Currently until I get a new GPU for an all air cooled system I'm ghetto mounting my GPU radiator to side of my case with the side panel off and using my old PSU to run the pump and fans on the GPU and GPU radiator. The rest of the fans are whisper quiet especially thanks to Fan Xpert 2. Anyway here are a few pictures that I took.

Got two more pics to come however the forum servers seems to not be letting me uploading them just now.

So far I see a lot of white, not red..

Was originally going for all white hence why I chose the Enthoo Pro White, however the rest of my parts are going to be majority red and black so should contrast well. Last build I did with way too much red and don't want to go overkill on it, however I see your point, hence why i'm trying for some other red parts and when im looking at the inside the white will mostly be a backdrop.

Looking pretty good so far. Subbed :D

Thanks, been taking a while to plan it and think through what i'm going to use. Hoping I can keep the power supply cables neat especially if I move to SLI. The build I did yesterday was pretty neat as well however their was a mass of PCIE cables from SLI 780 Ti's. I'm hoping silverstone cable extensions will make the visible cables look great too. Not sure if I will put in a LED strip or not, however if I do I think I will put a white one in as last time I used a red one it made any white painted parts go pink.

As long as it's on a white case, I'm following the topic.

When you finally finish it, please tell me how that 200mm fan performs as I'm thinking about moving the included 200mm to the top in my future rig.
