Just Captured some Lightning!

So we just had a pretty lengthy storm and I captured these:
 

Just thought I'd share - though I did think it was interesting how on the first one, when the main flash happens, the bottom 3/4 of the screen lights up independently of the top 1/4 - it's almost like tearing...

We had a similar storm around here a few days ago^^ 
Strangely enough my camera did not pick up the actual lightning even though i could clearly see it.

I know the feeling. That lightning bolt struck close enough to make my house shake   (It's a pretty s**t apartment building.. but still)

Still prefer being inside when it happens. When lightning strikes right next to you outside it's not very pleasant

I also sleep with my head a few inches from an electrical socket.. 

 

Your last gif is pretty interesting though. It's like a lightning cage in the sky^^

And my favourite of the three is definitely the first one - I love the little bolts that come before the main one - and its pretty clear too.

The first two were captured with my Note 3 and then downsampled from 1080px x 1080px to 512px by 512px - The third was captured with an iPad 2 -.-

I wish i could have used the 4K mode on the note 3 but it wont work on CM11 for some reason - 120fps would have been amazing, but again, CM11 doesnt like it.

One of the bolts in the storm hit the cell tower I can see from my window - that was pretty cool. I also had to walk the dog as it was getting started - It was great
