I'm a noob at these things

Go to solution Solved by 7850OC,

I don't have a monitor or anything...Nothing..Just planning to buy it once i get the money for it...One day

I guess a SSD really isn't that important then..

Dual monitor is for example: 1 for gaming while the other is for watching movies/videos..But this is just a suggestion

Because playing game genre like MMOs can be very boring sometimes

I don't quite understand this statement..

i did have a dual monitor setup (for some time) in the past

and i must say... i 100% love it

if you can, buy two 1080p sometime friend

the new 970 is out there (and the R9 285 also) try to get a new card (like this two)

So I'm a student..I got interested in building my own rigs..Started my journey of understanding these kinds of things ...Needs opinions for this rig. Is it okay on playing Battlefield 4 on Max Setting? Basically I need a rig that's not too complicated to dealt with and under 1000$ if possible..

Here is the rig:

Please give opinions on these..

If you only need the rig for gaming, you could pick a cheaper CPU in exchange for a better GPU.

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

Probably you can use a non-K CPU to save a bit money if you don't plan to overclock.

Spoiler

You do NOT need 16Gb of RAM.  Get a lower Cpasity PSU, that's way to high.

Because he had a hard drive.

I also love multi-tasking like musics, social media ,etc so thought about having dual monitor setup..

Please give opinions on these..

CPU - the i5 is fine (if is the 4 cores i5), and no need to be K (the GPU will do all the job here)

RAM - 8GB is the perfect number here (1600mhz or 1866mhz)

HDD/SSD - 1TB is great (not sure on the SSD but all is good anyway)

OS - 64 bits windows 7 premium is the best choice

DVD/BD - i always add a BD (is awesome see movies Full HD o the pc)

PSU - grab a powerful psu (i like use 650w, but is all up to you)

GPU - with all the money you save so far, the R9 290 or the R9 285 are my choices  ^_^

Not because i'm like a fanboy..But since i'm still new, i heard that AMD's graphic cards overheats and it doesn't last very long, and it would require more air flow inside the case..

And also i dont think a powerful PSU can help much. SSDs are for faster boot, I think? So my games installed on my HDD..

1) is a long answer, but he can get a green card also, any card is good as long she be truly powerful (like the R9 285)  ^_^

2) all games will be in the HDD (and not in the SSD)

this is why "for me" SSD speeds are pointless compared to GB size of HDD

i just like have a strong PSU on all machines lol, but that is just me

i forget add, welcome to the forum new friend  :)

There is no need for an SSD Really. Blazing speeds are for those who are IMPATIENT FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS.

Here is the best bang for the buck :

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($137.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 285 2GB STRIX Video Card  ($259.99 @ Amazon)
Case: NZXT Phantom (White) ATX Full Tower Case  ($114.99 @ Micro Center)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($86.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $1071.54
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Please note that the RAM will auto-oc to 1866mhz so you won't have problems with the i5's Turbo Boost v2.
Since you say you are a noob, there is no point in OC. You have top-noch everything. For your money ofcourse.
I recommend going with 1 monitor only @1080p, 144Hz is best gaming experience.. More than 1080p is just for fancy rich kids.
*Whispers* You can save the OS money... if you know... *Whispers*
