Rift servers being DDoS'd

Started playing Rift recently and I noticed that it's being DDoS'd a lot. Trion has confirmed this and it's really starting to ruin their games, not just Rift.

 

Is there something that they can do to prevent this or it is inevitable? 

 

All shards are currently down, it's disappointing to see how games can be ruined by a small group of people.

just wait, they are probably working on it, stopping ddos isn't just the press of a button

i use to have the second best link in the world here, but it died ;_; its a 404 now but it will always be here
